Guru 360° Counterweights Setup Diagram
The diagram above represents four different 360° Cameras: Samsung Gear 360°, Dual Kodak PIXPRO SP 360°, Ricoh Theta S, and Nikon Keymission 360°.
The diagram depicts a front view of the Guru 360° facing forward. Now, locate on your Guru 360º the sticker on the roll arm that says "This Side Up" with arrows. Note: If the arrows are pointed down, the stabilizer is incorrectly oriented. "Motor" refers to the tilt motor.
Positioning and using the correct amount of counterweight plates.
Take care not to cross thread with the counterweight plates when attaching them. "Motor Side" will refer to a counterweight plate position that needs to be installed on the motor side. If the position is not denoted with "Motor Side," counterweights will be installed on the opposite side from the motor side, which will be referred to as "None-motor Side."
Note how many counterweight plates are used for each position.
Motor side counterweights positions from top to bottom are M1, M2, M3, M4, M5, M6, and M7.
None-motor Side counterweights positions from top to bottom are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7.
Example for the Samsung Gear 360, it's counterweight plate position and amount of plates needed is three counterweight plates to be installed at position M3 Motor Side. For None-motor Side two counterweight plates will need to be installed in position 5.
What if your camera model is not represented in the diagram
but listed as one of the supported 360° cameras?
Simply lookup your 360° cameras weight/mass and match it to one of the 4 different 360° cameras represented in the diagram.
Example: If your 360° camera is a Fly360, the weight/mass is 172 grams. From the diagram starting the with the Gear 360, it's weight/mass is 153 grams. The weight/mass of the Dual Kodak PIXPRO SP 360 is 256 grams. The weight/mass of the Richo Theta S is 125 grams but its center of mass is located much higher due to its narrow/tall body. Take note of the three counterweight plates located in position 1, whereas the Gear 360 has three counterweight plates located in position 5 because it's center of mass is lower due to it's squat body. The Nikon Keymission 360 weight/mass is 200 grams. The Fly360° is similar in weight and body size to the Gear 360 so we would suggest following the Gear 360's counterweight configuration for setting up the Fly360.
