A Customer Video from SoCal Maker Con, Lens Adapters, Stock Updates.

If you didn't get a chance to demo the Beholder DS1 Camera Stabilizer at SoCal Maker Con check out Jason Vong's first impressions of the Beholder DS1. This video features a GH4 with Metabones Speedbooster, Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 AT-X Pro DX II, EF mount. We were unsuccessful balancing a Tamron 24-70 f2.8 VC lens EF mount due to the Metabones adding an additional length to lens. Because of this the camera setup must be pushed further back towards the roll motor eliminating the clearance needed for the camera and gimbal to move freely. Though a Tamron 24-70 f2.8 VC lens EF mounted to a 5D or 7D, would balance with enough clearance for the gimbal and camera to move freely. Lens adapters due to the overall length they add to the length of the lens will make some lens and camera combinations unbalanceable. Feel free to share with us your camera setups. Spontaneously went to SoCal Maker Convention and tried out the Beholder DS-1, a pistol-grip camera stabilizer. I want one!

On to stock. We spoke with the factory last night and the news was not good. The factory is about 5-7 days behind production schedule. The parts needed for assembly of the DS1 and MS1 have yet to arrive. The factory expects to start assembly by the 16th of Nov. It seems there were delays in bringing the extra CNC machines online and training up the new staff. TRD Factory and OwlDolly are very grateful for the overwhelming positive response the DS1 and MS1 has received. We would like to thank our customers for their continued support as OwlDolly does it best to move production forward. Sorry for the delay, we are in contact with the factory daily, and we will continue to update the blog with stock updates. Feel free to contact us at Sales@OwlDolly.com

Thank you
